Our approach

Method over promises.

Any consultancy can tell you it delivers quality. What matters is whether the engagement produces evidence: written decisions, testable acceptance criteria, and documentation that outlives the people who wrote it.

  • Written acceptance criteria per milestone
  • Internal architecture review before build
  • Fortnightly demonstration of working software
  • Formal change control on every variation
The engagement

Five phases, start to finish.

Not every engagement runs all five. An advisory assessment may stop after discovery, by design. But where we build, this is the sequence, and no phase begins before the previous one has been signed off.

  1. 01

    Discovery

    2 to 4 weeks

We establish the facts before proposing anything. That means interviewing the people who use the systems, reading the code, and reviewing the contracts, not accepting a brief at face value.

    What happens

    • Stakeholder interviews across business and technical functions
    • Architecture, codebase, and vendor contract review
    • Constraint mapping: regulatory, budgetary, and operational
    • Written findings report with options, costs, and tradeoffs
  2. 02

    Design

    2 to 5 weeks

A solution design reviewed and signed off internally before any build begins. Every design passes through our architecture review so the firm, not just the assigned architect, stands behind it.

    What happens

    • Solution and data architecture with documented decisions
    • Security and data protection design review
    • Delivery plan with milestones and acceptance criteria
    • Internal architecture review signoff
  3. 03

    Build

    Two week increments

Work ships in two week increments, each ending in a demonstration of working software against agreed acceptance criteria. Nothing is reported as complete until the client has seen it run.

    What happens

    • Peer reviewed development with automated test coverage
    • Continuous integration with security and dependency scanning
    • Fortnightly demonstration and written progress report
    • Formal change control on any scope variation
  4. 04

    Transition

    2 to 4 weeks

Handover is a deliverable, not a courtesy. Clients leave an engagement able to operate, extend, and audit the system without us, whether or not they retain us for support.

    What happens

    • Rehearsed cutover with a documented rollback procedure
    • Documentation, runbooks, and infrastructure as code handover
    • Training for client engineering and operations staff
    • Full transfer of source code and intellectual property
  5. 05

    Support

    Ongoing, by agreement

Where clients choose continued support, a named team stays with the system under contractual response targets and a monthly service review.

    What happens

    • Monitored ticket queue with defined priority levels
    • Scheduled patching, dependency upgrades, and capacity review
    • Monthly service report covering incidents and improvements
    • Quarterly architecture and cost review
Documentation

What ends up in your hands.

These artefacts are what make an engagement auditable after the fact. They are also what a board, an acquirer, or a regulator will ask to see.

Discovery findings report

Discovery

Documented current state, options with costs and tradeoffs, and a recommendation. Yours to keep whether or not you proceed with us.

Solution architecture document

Design

System design, data model, integration points, and a record of every significant architectural decision with its rationale.

Delivery plan and acceptance criteria

Design

Milestones, dates, dependencies, and the specific, testable conditions each deliverable must meet to be accepted.

Risk register

All phases

Identified risks with likelihood, impact, mitigation, and a named owner. Reviewed and reissued at every milestone.

Fortnightly progress report

Build

Work completed, work planned, risks, budget consumed, and decisions required from you. Issued in writing alongside a live demonstration.

Handover pack

Transition

Source code, infrastructure as code, runbooks, administrator and developer documentation, and a signed IP transfer.

Principles

The commitments behind the method.

Independence from vendors

We hold no reseller agreements and take no commission on software you buy. Our recommendation is the one we believe is right, and we will tell you when the answer is to change nothing.

Written over verbal

Scope, acceptance criteria, decisions, and risks are documented. If it was agreed in a meeting, it is confirmed in writing afterwards, which is what makes an engagement auditable.

Senior people on the work

The consultant who scoped your engagement stays on it. We do not win work with principals and staff it with juniors, and our team numbers are deliberately kept small enough to make that true.

Nothing locked in

We build on mainstream, well supported technology and hand over everything needed to run it. Retaining us should be a commercial choice, never a technical necessity.

Controls

How we handle data and access.

Clients remain accountable for their suppliers. These are the controls we operate under on every engagement, written into the master services agreement rather than offered as reassurance.

Contractual and legal clarity

Every engagement runs on a written master services agreement with a defined scope, acceptance criteria, and change control process. Mutual NDAs are signed before discovery begins.

Data protection by design

We build to GDPR and UAE Federal Decree Law No. 45 of 2021 requirements: data minimisation, documented lawful bases, encryption in transit and at rest, and defined retention periods.

Secure engineering practice

Peer reviewed code, least privilege access, dependency and secret scanning in CI, and segregated client environments. Credentials are never shared outside a managed secrets store.

Continuity and handover

Documentation, infrastructure as code, and runbooks are delivered alongside every system so clients retain full ownership and can operate independently.

Start with discovery

Begin with four weeks of facts, not a twelve month commitment.

Most engagements start with a short, fixed fee discovery phase. You end it with a written report you own outright, including the option of doing nothing if that is genuinely the right answer.

What to expect

  • Initial consultation at no cost
  • Mutual NDA signed before discovery
  • Written findings you own outright

Enquiries are answered by a consultant, not a call centre. We typically respond within one business day.
